What is this Part, 86 190E 16v

Ive looked everywhere and i cannot find the name for this part. it is located on the very forward end of the drive shaft where it connects to the gearbox. it is rubber with metal ring. looks like some sort of bushing.

anyway, what is this part, what does it do, and why is it worn??

That is the most worn flex disk I have ever seen! Thankfully you have it out before your driveshaft has some fun on the underside of your car!

Not a flex disc but a Balancer for the driveshaft.

Only a few 190's used that piece, including the 16V.

Is available as a spart part, not really needed.

i think the reason that that balancer is that worn is that a very worn flex disc was being used while the driver explored the upper limits of the rev range.
