c230 a/c

I am looking at a 1997 c230. It does not hold freon. Does this car have the dreaded 124 evaporator problem? or any other known transmission or a/c issues?

thanks for any replies. I am unfamiliar with these cars... only have 124's

The W202 chassis is not know for leaking evaporators, my 2000 C230 had a leaking A/C system when I purchased it in 2006 - it ended up being a hole in the condenser. YMMV.

A 1997 W202 had an early version of the then new 722.6 transmission, early versions of this transmission were more problematic than later versions.

From what I've read and seen (via first hand ownership experiences) the W202 chassis is fairly trouble-free by Mercedes standards.

There are lots of posts about W202's in the archives, do a search for lots of additional info.
