Setting crankshaft to ignition TDC ('91 103)
In the process of removing head, the shop manual ('86 year, 103 engine) says to set crankshaft to ignition TDC and shows a picture with a numbered cylindrical setting dealy
Either I'm blind or they changed the later 103's to set to TDC some other way, because I can't find this setting anywhere. If it's not been changed on any 103's, then where should I be looking for this area? It could be that oil is covering the spool but I don't think that's the case. Take off the belt and there is a set of numbers on the front crank harmonic balancer. Set so that the ears of the cam are pointing down and the balancer is at 0.

Thanks Donnie
I see it now. However, do I need to remove the fan clutch to set to TDC, or is there a way around this?

If you are to remove the head, the fan and the belt should be taken off to give access to the front cover and the intake front bolt.
