Insrumet cluster lighting

My instrument cluster (IC) lights need replaced. I was wondering if while I'm in there I should replace the dimmer rheostat(if thats what it is). Has anyone replaced the dimmer in their w123s?How difficult is it? My car is a 1984 300d>

Thanks,
Harry

I think most of the members think you should eliminate the dimmer and solder it straight through. That is if you stay with standard bulbs.

Instrument cluster lighting

Thanks for the reply. Another question. Does the smaller bulb, I think its 1.2 w, come with the base or does the bulb pull out. I have the bulbs out and can remove the larger one form the base but cant seem to wiggle the smaller one out.

Thanks,
Harry
