Have been trying for months to find out the production numbers for 560sel 1988 and 1989. Roughly how many still on road? Anyone know where to find this info?? Since this was a flagship model -could it become a collector's item in 10-20years?? - just curious as my 1989 is almost finished being restored to like new conditon (mega$$$$). If it won't be a collector's item then I will just drive my baby and enjoy it. If it will, I will occasionally drive and store it for the future. Thanks for your help. BTW, this car even had chromed headlight wiper arms and Euro headlights when I got it. The color of the car is "smoked oyster pearl gray" according to my benz mechanic. Will post pix of it in spring when I get it out of storage.

IF you go by what previous model sedans have done THEN just drive your BABY & enjoy it now!! MB coupes & convertibles can be collector type of cars but RARELY do sedans ever hold any real value.

M.B. Doc...
Do you think that a 1990 300CE has a chance to be a collector item some time in the future? (It has the M104 engine, as you know.) Thanks very much for your thoughts.
