2001 SLK320 Re-charge battery, or tow to storage?

Hello from a newbie.

I just inherited a 2001 fully loaded SLK320 that has been sitting covered out in the yard in Massachusetts for a good two years or so. I am having renovations done to the house and have to move the car from the driveway into storage until spring.

Do you think it would be a good idea to replace the battery and try to get it running before a few (more) months of storage, or just have to towed there and deal with it in the spring?

Thank you for any and all advice.

Since the car has been sitting for a few years I would recommend flat bed towing the car to the storage location, providing that the car is not going too far. A long distance tow could quickly add up making it more reasonable to get the car into running condition. How has it been kept? Any service records? I would suggest going over the car carefully in the spring , and having crucial things such as brakes and suspension components examined closely.
