C280 door lock issues
The drivers side door on my 1995 C280 stopped working. When I put the key in and turn, nothing happens. The passenger side lock and the dash switch work fine but the driver door lock is dead. Any help is appreciated as always.
Thanks. J. |

What do you mean by "the dash switch works fine"?? If you get in the car and use the dash switch will the drivers door lock?
And if you use the metal key in the door lock, will it turn? Or seized? Not really clear on what the car is or isn't doing. Gilly

The switch I was referring to is the Centarl locking System. This does lock all doors. When I place the key in the drivers side door it does not lock or unlock any door. When I use the passenger side door key hole, all doors unlock/lock. Hopefully this is a little clearer. Thanks.

Assuming the lock in the drivers door is moving, there is a switch on the drivers door lock that either came off, is nonfunctioning, or has a wiring problem, I don't believe there is a mechanical link between the lock cylinder and the lock itself, it's all electric.

It's either what I said before, or if the switch is on the lock assembly, and it's controled by a metal rod, then maybe thew rod got knocked off by someone trying to use a slim jim to unlock the car??
