Can the hood ornament (Star) be moved from one car to another?
I'm doing some body work after Mr. Deer kicked my hood.
With a new hood from the salvage yard, I now have two hoods. One hood with and one hood without the hood ornament. Can the 1995 E-Class hood star be removed without breakage and installed on the replacement hood? Thanks for the help Pictures of the hoods are at: can the Hood Star be removed?

As long as the hood is the same, then sure.

Often the mechanism for releasing it from the grille/hood is corroded and falls apart when trying to remove it. It might be easier to just get a new one (~$30) Then its nice and shiny!

Yes but the '95 star only fits '94/'95 hoods and as Paul says, ... they're not expensive.
