Environmental Leak-Rain and wash
Recently purchased my first Mercedes, an '82 240D with manual tranny, 211,00 miles. I love it more every day. After washing and waxing it the first time the rear right foot well was an inch deep in water. I removed the floor mats and mopped up the water. Two weeks later after a moderate rain the foot well was wet again. It is only the foot well and there are no signs of the door seal leaking. Any ideas?

Check the drains in the sun roof channel (if you have one) and the drains around the hood hinges. These are often full of leaves, etc.
Good luck.

Tom, I read about this on many other posts and cleaned out all the drains, 10 or so. Last we had a pretty hard and steady rain. This morning the interior was dry. So I son't know witch one it was for sure but the problem appears to be solved.
thank you, the bern Bernie Rusnock
