380 SEL won't run in cold weather?
1983 380 SEL 108k miles. Runs perfect until temp drops to arounjd 30f. If it is outside it will not start. If I start out in my garage where it is warm I can drive for a few miles then it will shut down like it ran out of gas. I can tow it back to the garage where it is warm, let it sit a while and it starts up fine.
Where should I start looking? Thanks! 51 |

IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A FAULTY e.h.a SYSTEM THIS LEANS AND RICHENS THE ENGINE FOR HOT WARM AND COLD STARTING,THE PART IS VERY EXPENSIVE LOCATED ON THE BACK OF THE FUEL DISTRIBUTOR UP AGAINST FIREWALL, it has a 2 prong connector end on it and its under the left passengers side of the air filter box,ALSO THE ENGINE TEMP SENSOR PLAYS A ROLL IN HOW THIS WORKS CHECK THE CONTINUITY OF THE ENGINE TEMP SENSOR.
