M103 spark plug alternates

Since it is difficult to find the correct Bosch, Beru, Champion and NGK non-resistor spark plugs, will any the following copper core plugs work:

Motorcraft - SP447
Denso - T20EP-U
Splitfire - CC0101D

Why on earth would that be difficult?? Just go to the next Mercedes dealership and ask for the correct spark plugs for your car. This is like saving a dime but wasting a dollar.

Two plugs that are correct for OEM spec are:

NGK BP6EFS (or hotter plug BP5EFS)

Denso T20EP-U

Forget all the other choices such as splitfire etc. I purchase the NGK's from ClubPlug.net and get the Denso's from various sellers on Amazon. You will not find either of these plugs at parts stores.

Good Luck,

Jayare

I picked up plugs for the m103 when I had it at the dealer and pricing was very competitive...though the closest MB dealer to me was about 25 minutes away...

It beat waiting for them to be shipped

I'm sorry,

Is there something wrong with using Fastlane? Prices are comparable, and your getting the right stuff. And they're kinda responsable for the forum that you folks are advertising everyone else's website on, which is looked down on pretty hard here...

Matt.... i have used fastlane on a few occasions, but do wind up going to the auto place in az... they are usually at least 20 percent cheaper with free shipping on a 50 dollar order...

that said...one of fastlanes biggest banner advertisers is advance auto parts...and i always use them.

it's america....

Denso T20EP-U are the easiest to find that will work great.

I got Bosch H9DCO from my local dealer for $3.40/each about 3 months ago. Just go to the local dealer, ENSURE it is NOT HR9DCO. If it is, ask them to find the non-resistor and have it shipped to their dealer. The plugs are still out there. I'd recommend buying 2-3 sets now before prices skyrocket and they really do become difficult to obtain.

I second the Denso's. I have them in my m103 right now. NGK's are also good, I have them in the 420SEL.

i found napa stocks the champion plugs that are approved for the v8s.....fyi

What's difficult about it?

Just order them from Mercedes.

Just in past few months I received H9DCO from

https://www.getmercedesparts.com/oem-Mercedes-parts.html

Tip: They never are going to have Mercedes parts at PepBoys.

Old thread I know, but new info! Mike at Pelican Parts has assured me that he is going to push for the Denso T20EP-U plugs to be available through them, as well as other non-resistor Densos for other Benz applications. He just special ordered 12 plugs for me for my M103s, $40 bucks and change including sales tax (cause I'm in his state) and shipping! That's less than $3 apiece!

I've been feeling guilty because I have NEVER bought ANYTHING from them so I called them today and told them to get those plugs so I can rectify the situation!

Anybody who needs those plugs RIGHT NOW will have to call them directly and give them the part number because it's gonna take a little while before they are listed.

Regards,
Eric

Look, all I wrote down was the order number, the total amount, the dude's name, his extension number, and today's date. Like I said, it was less than three bucks a plug. Even if you figure three bucks a plug that works: $3.00 X 12 = $36.00 so it's not too hard to imagine the whole thing coming in at $40.70 . Maybe he forgot to charge me the sales tax, I dunno.

Maybe your the one who's deficient in arithmetical ability.

A simple "thanks for the info" would have sufficed.

Exactly when was it that I rubbed you the wrong way? Cause it sure seems lately that you go out of your way to be insulting to me. Totally un-called for.

Regards,
Eric
