1973 450sl Fuel Pressure Problem

I had my 450sl serviced at the Dallas dealership last year and they said i needed to replace the fuel pressure sensor. the engine runs like its getting inconsistent amounts of fuel. any suggestions on what might be the problem or what my solution might be? i want to be certain its the fuel pressure sensor before i replace it.

Thanks,
Nicholas Parks
