Rotor Mounting Question

I bought a set of front rotors for my '94 E320 Wagon that have all the holes correct EXCEPT the one for the set screw that actually attaches it to the flange. That hole is off by a few degrees and therefore cannot be used. A dumb mistake in manufacturing and QA.

Since the rotor will still be aligned by the two roll pins and be well secured by the five wheel bolts, is there any practical reason why I can't use the two (now free of charge) rotors safely? Advice will be welcomed.

Given that other car manufacturers just slap the rotors on to be held by the lug bolts, probably OK.

My rotors are missing their set screw and have not had any issues. You'll be alright.

No, you won't be "allright."

Anything of this poor quality isn't going to be a good part in any respect.

Who manufactured the rotor? I dont have set screws to install on my 201 although it does have them... My rotors are all ATE/Balo rotors.

Are these front or rear?

which rotors did you purchase? Clearly something is amiss. That setscrew is there for a reason. Also, those rotors are all cast then machined, the set screw hole is in the mold. So you were probably sent the incorrect rotors.
