how to change battery 99 s Class

How do you change battery or disconect battery on my car? Will it lose program and car won't start?Or is the radio code the only thing that it loses?
I wonder as before next winter I want top put a new battery in the car.She started slow at 0 degrees.I have heard bad things happen when you disconnect battery.

You will have to recode the radio, set clock, & re sync the windows.

I always use light gauge jumper wires & battery to hold the memory.
Connect jumper before disconnecting old battery.
