Thumbs down Back at it. Where can I get the lower half of the hood....

I have a mercedes emblem that was loaded until i messed with it when I went to install it on my 300e I noticed that there is nothing under the hood just a complete whole... Nothing to attach this emblem to.

if someone has the part i need for cheap and OR the insight on what i do to reload this emblem and how to install it i would appreciate it.

THANKS IN ADVANCE

Pics might help a bit as well.

are you talking about the star that sits on the hood or the emblem that on the front of the grille facing forwards?

Okay. I do not have the entire bottom portion. in steps 2,3 and 4. Does anyone have this for sale (used might be better)

Also, I have the emblem in the manual pics. It is not loaded now, are there any special steps to get the ready for installation again? Or do I just compress the spring on the bottom of the emblem and put the small metal tab back under it to keep the spring compressed.

You can buy it new for under $30 IIRC, it's all one assembly.

86 300E, you need to compress the spring and install the metal tab so the Star is spring-loaded and not rigidly fixed to the grille. It's a safety feature.
