Removing 94 Wagon OVP

How to you get the thing out? I tried wiggling it out, I ordered a new one and Would like to replace it as I change out the wiring harness

hold the base with one hand and wiggle with the other...

yep, your skin will likely get scratched up... if you have big hands find a teenager with smaller ones, I guess.

di-electric grease the new contacts....

i think we've all been frustrated getting one out.

i guess if you really need more room take out he battery...

i always lift out that black computer thing

No screws? well... Looks like I need to move on to swearing.. Unfortunatly the person I know who has smaller hands (the battery is out as is most of the harness...) is unreliable.. I'll fight with it some more later.

i came close to trying to pry it out with a smaller butter knife once.... but wiggling ultimately worked...

only screws are on a bracket that it sits in... no need to remove that.

With the early cars, the OVP has a metal ear that slides into the bracket which holds the ECU, ABS modules. So you just pull it out. The later model cars from 90-up I think had a 7 or 8mm set screw holding one of the ears in place.
