w202 Charcoal Canister Question

Can anyone provide a link to, or spell out, instructions on R&R the charcoal canister/ filter for the EGR system on my '94 C280?

Is this the same canister for the fuel tank overflow?

Lately the CEL has shown a code for the purge valve which I found to have a fine black grainular substance in it. I can only think that the charcoal filter/ canister has ruptured some how and is getting junk into the line. The purge valve itself seems to stop the charcoal from getting any further in the system.

Thank you for the help!!

Crash

There isn't any canister for the EGR system.

What codes are you getting?? like, P0 400 or P0 441

Hey Doc.
It's been awhile since I last checked but I think it was PO443. A friend of mine has alldata and it shows this line going to the charcoal canister by the fuel tank.

He was suppose to check for R&R directions for this canister but I haven't talked to him since this morning.

Any way if you or someone else here has done this before I would appreciate some guidance and directions.

Thanks.

P0 443 is 100% about the electrical operation of the purge valve. amperage draw

Mounted next to the w/s washer reservoir, has lettering "MOT" on the top of it.

And that is where I am getting charcoal. It has to be coming from the canister in the back fender well that the line connects to.

Can you supply me with instructions to R&R the canister? Any tips?
Than you.

Charcoal Canister is under the LF fender, removal of the inner liner is required.

I was hoping someone on this forum had some experience or knowledge of removing and replacing the charcoal canister located in the back fender well by the fuel filler tube that seems to be the culprit. The purge valve is not my worry, I can get another one. The PO443 code is what led me to find the loose charcoal in the first place. I am concerned about the loose charcoal in the vaccum line that seems to be coming from a charcoal canister somewhere.
Thanks.

Damnit Jim! I can't pull anymore teeth without a license!!
