M104 overhaul makes noise with cam adjuster engadged
Hello
A freind of mine just rebuilt his M104 in his 98 S320, The engine appears to run well up until it reaches the RPM where the cam advances. Then it makes a noise posibly as if the valves are hitting the piston. Ive posted a vidio of the engine running with and without the cam adjuster connected. Has anyone observed this behavior. Thanks in advance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QbU3xeYzpM

If it sounds like the valves are hitting the pistons, there's a good chance they are. Was the head resurfaced? Was the cam timing set accurately?

That's not a good sound.

Was the timing set with cam in retarded position of the adjuster?
