M104 overhaul makes noise with cam adjuster engadged

Hello

A freind of mine just rebuilt his M104 in his 98 S320, The engine appears to run well up until it reaches the RPM where the cam advances. Then it makes a noise posibly as if the valves are hitting the piston. Ive posted a vidio of the engine running with and without the cam adjuster connected. Has anyone observed this behavior.

Thanks in advance

If it sounds like the valves are hitting the pistons, there's a good chance they are. Was the head resurfaced? Was the cam timing set accurately?
