My 1994 E320 wagon has a weird electrical ghost.
When I press the break pedal I loose fuel, oil presser, and temp gauge and the large relay that controls the signal lights start to make a buzzing sound. Also I don't get any tail lights. The marker, signal, and reverse lights work.

Things I have tried/checked

1. I replaced that large relay
2. I replaced the little switch down on the break pedal linkage.
3. I checked all the grounds behind gauge cluster. " Very Clean No Corrosion "
4. I checked all the wires in fuse box and wires in rear connecting to tail lights. " Very Clean No Corrosion or dry cracked wires "

Anyone see/hear of anything like this?

Has the engine wire harness been replaced?

No but it is not all dried up and cracked like my 95 C280 was. It looks good. but am sure there's a lot I cant see. Would think if its not bad where I can see, the rest cant be that bad....

I don't know why your car would be different from all the others made at that time.

I'm sure its in the mail.... I made my own wiring harness for my C280. That's 12 hours bent over a table I don't wana do anytime soon.

It was the fuses. I spun 3 and 5 and the buzzing stopped and gauges came back. I spun them all a wile back but did not help. I dont have my fuse chart and did not know what ones to clean up.

I had a similar problem that was traced to a loose battery cable. You may have something similar, like a corroded ground somewhere. These vehicles use a lot of electricity, and the circuits can't handle much resistance.
