As said above all MB sedans are worthless as they age, unless your talking about a 6.3 or 600.
Have you ever even driven or worked on a W140? They are really nice cars. An S600 at 130mph is sublime.

I have owned a W140 - bought it new. It was Australian dollars $240.000
Now in Australia they are worth $10,000 - for a very good one. The auction site has them regularly for less than $ 4,000. How's that for depreciation. Here's an appraisal of the W140 from one of the members here. Quote:

I love the W140 models myself, I actually prefer the earlier ones, but I know that the later W140 are much better overall. My uncle has a '93 W140, but its been a very good car. I has had to have a new evaporator however, as well as a new head gasket (its a 3.0L I6).

Sure, and I've had good luck with them, because I did all the work. But the marketplace pities them. I'm looking for a SUV and notice the early MLs are worthless, probably the lowest priced on the market. You can't tell me there isn't something going wrong with this car company.

A friend of mine really likes W140s, he thinks they are undervalued and has bought several of them. I'm not a fan of their style, but they seen like good solid cars.

Their is nothing wrong with MB. Like any other company they have built some dogs over the years, the early ML's and C's are a good example. The 3.5L 603 wasn't so hot, and the W116 was a rust bucket from day one.
