300E 2.8L wire harness flame out - Help
Hello,
My story begins last Monday. I was driving to work in my 1993 300E 2.8L and my car stalled out. I then made it to my local shop. We found that 2 cyclinders were not firing. My mechanic found that one of the three coils burnt up. Further discovery found the dreaded bad wire harness that these cars have. My mechanic changed the engine wire harness and the bad coil but the two pistons still will not fire. Could the CPU board be bad from the wire short? On Monday he will see if the signal to fire the piston comes out of the CPU. Help !! Any suggestions? Should I sell the car now? 153K miles. Thanks. |
