Yes!
Never seen one before... The instructions mention flipping a switch for pre 85 Mercedes... but cant see a switch anywhere. Called Baum Tools, and they have no information about it. Anyone care to direct me to info on what readings the Klima puts out? Trying to figure out why the Compressor wont run on my 84 190D.

Used it yesterday....
Interesting... ![]() Took some DMM readings for each pin... ![]() Now I need to figure out what the readings mean!

As the instructions state check for voltage from the control unit .I simply bridged the two pins together .compresser ran but drew 12 amps when it should be drawing close to 3 amps .I have replaced the clutch unit and it 2.8 A , which is normal draw ,but the klima unit does not work .

I am gonna continue diagnosing my non functioning 190D A/C back on the thread I started here..
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/diesel-discussion/314691-c-compressor-not-engaging-ideas-post2763169.html#post2763169 But here are the reading I got.. All readings taken with my DMM with - probe in #31 on the Monitor engine at idle with A/C on max. #15 = 10.75V #TD = -0.85V #GK+ =-0.85V #87 = -0.885V #T =11.15V #KL =0.5V #87Z =9.5V

pin # 87 indicates there is no power going to the compressor. It should have battery voltage
KL pin is compressor enable ; does it have a change in voltage from max cool to max heat setting ? i assume it should to enable the relay to activate compressor regards . |

Thanks Alder...
Will investigate and report back on the 190D thread..

That's a neat tool. I'd think it would be extra useful for tests on the compressor speed sensor.

Yes, I feel good about buying it... now I need to learn and understand what its telling me!
Reading thru the FSM Alder sent me I spotted something interesting... It says the reading from the speed sensors should be reading in AC V, not DC V.. My meter is autoranging, but I will check that later. What I did note at the time, was it was reading Minus 0.8V... which i thought was odd. Also, I thought it odd that pin 15 that the instruction sheet say I should have battery voltage... I only am reading 10.76V... ![]()

Where did you find this tool?

Was searching for a Klima relay for the 190D on Ebay...
It popped up in the search. Figured at $25 it was a steal...
