190d 2.5td I want to get rid of the wing

It's a nice car but it feels funny driving a car with wing in the back. I'm 43 years old.

I would like to replace the trunk lid with a junk yard part and just keep the original winged trunk lid for the next owner.

So the question is....is it difficult to replace the trunk lid? I would imagine a few bolts, etc. should do it. Obviously it will have to be painted to match the rest of the car.

Here's a picture of the car with the wing.

Repacing should be no problem, but getting it a matching paint job could be costly, I would live with it.

Start calling around to your local junk yards, and making bi monthly trips to any local Pick n' Pull yards. It may take a long time, and a black lid might never show up, but that's the cheapest way to do it. I think every year lid will fit.

pull that thing off the trunk and keep fresh tape over the holes until you find a trunk.
