E320 cab interior light removal
I'm trying to figure out how to remove the cover on the overhead interior light fixture in my car. It's the unit above the mirror on a 95 E320 cabriolet. I have the lights out and the screws out behind it. How do I remove the housing without breaking it?

Could you detail the removal process for the plastic housing, which I was afraid to touch for fear it was fragile or brittle and would break? What else have you been able to remove, and what are you intending to repair or replace?

I'd like to remove it so I can glue back the pieces that have broken off, tend to the flaky switches, and clean the little fan for the temp sensor.
Like you, I want to remove the plastic housing. All I've been able to remove are the two lamp housings (with the bulb) and the exposed screws behind the lamps.

How did you remove the two lamp housings?

I gingerly pried on the edge facing me (when sitting in the car) to extract the housings. It's best done with two screwdrivers to "walk" it out.
