12v But No Headlight???
Hey Guys,
Let me get this out of the way first: This is going to sound crazy. Which is why there are pics. I have Euro headlights on my grey market '72 350SL which have the modern three-prong E1 bulbs (high & low beam in one bulb). The facts: 1) The pass side low beam doesn't light, but high beam does. 2) New bulb = same result. 3) Grounds are all good. 4) I have 12V on BOTH the low & high beam sockets in the 3-prong connector. 5) If I connect any 12v source to the low beam (other than the connector that shows 12V), the low beam lights up. ![]() ![]() ![]() Does anyone have ANY idea what the hell is wrong with this thing? Feel free to ask questions if the above isn't clear. And please feel free to tell me that I overlooked something stupid. ![]() ![]()

Thanks to a certain certified Mercedes genius via PM: Spin the headlight fuse.
Worked perfectly. So remember that future generations of MB wrenchers: Always check the damned fuse box, EVEN IF you're showing 12v. ![]() Thanks AD!
