'95 E320 fuel injectors not working.

I have a 1995 E320, which hadn't been started in about a year. I found that the fuel pumps were questionable, so I replaced them both. Now, there is fuel pressure to the fitting at the rail, but the car will not start. I removed all the cross over tubes from the air cleaner, and poured some gasoline into the throttle plate area. The car started and ran until it ran out of gas. I am thinking that the injectors are not getting current to them to fire. Is there a fuse or relay that might need replacing. The old gas was quite stinky, so I drained the tank and replaced gas filter near the tank. I pulled the spark plugs and they were bone dry, and replaced them while I had them out. I am out of ideas as to what to try next.. thanks for the help..
