'95 E320 fuel injectors not working.
I have a 1995 E320, which hadn't been started in about a year. I found that the fuel pumps were questionable, so I replaced them both. Now, there is fuel pressure to the fitting at the rail, but the car will not start. I removed all the cross over tubes from the air cleaner, and poured some gasoline into the throttle plate area. The car started and ran until it ran out of gas. I am thinking that the injectors are not getting current to them to fire. Is there a fuse or relay that might need replacing. The old gas was quite stinky, so I drained the tank and replaced gas filter near the tank. I pulled the spark plugs and they were bone dry, and replaced them while I had them out. I am out of ideas as to what to try next.. thanks for the help..

While operating the starter can you "feel" if the injectors are clicking?
Do you have a voltmeter to see if there is power to the injectors? Have you checked the over-voltage relay for a blown fuse?

test the injectors connectors for positive voltage - dont know about the circuit functioning in MB, but in most cars the injectors positive side should be live with key on.
If you have positive - then fit a 12V LED in the connector and see if it blinks on cranking. Seems like a dead positive feed circuit - flaky wiring harness comes to mind.

The wire harness is not a problem, that was my first thought. I have checked the over voltage relay, and that has a good fuse. I also replaced it as a possible solution to this problem. I don't like throwing parts at something without knowing that the part is defective, but the relay has a reported high incidence of problems, so that is why I replaced it. I have to figure out how to get the cover off the injectors to check that next. Can someone help with instructions for its removal? Once I have it off, I will do the electrical checks as suggested. Thanks again for the help.
