Thanks for the response to my questions. I also found your other wiring harness post. Good to read through it. I noticed some comments from some of the responders about the ETA (throttle body I guess). I was wondering what your thoughts are on this beast? I see folks mention this now and then but it doesn't seem to be an much of a pandemic as the main harness.

Mine is still original I assume. The throttle response post wiring harness change-out is much better/smoother. Could have been that the old spark plugs were causing the flaky pedal from time to time. It would seem to suddenly accelerate after pressing downward on the throttle - not an immediate response if you will. Now not so much. I don't know, maybe the new harness has something directly related.... I'm just glad it is 'better'!

I don't plan any repair at this time on mine as all seems to be fine. Now, ask me this time next week!

Too funny on that last part of your quote. I totally know the feeling. I have a 95 E320 like yours and a 93 diesel. I had them both down for a month this summer trying to figure it out without taking in to a shop. I was going out of my mind for a bit there. The problem is I am like you I think, I really like these cars so I can't bring myself to dump them and get something newer. I'm currently fighting the urge to get an older 240D for a toy but I know exactly what that will spell if I do. We'll see if I can continue to hold off during moments of weakness or not

HaHaHa, I hear ya! Unfortunately I have a hankering (more like a FEVER ) for a Harley as a toy. I had a great '85 300D that I sold a couple years ago and haven't had a 'toy' ever since and I must say I really miss that ol' car! It was always getting 'looks' as I pulled up at a traffic light or a thumbs up by an driver (usually a German auto of some flavor) while cruising down the interstate! Good luck to you finding the best 240D. Looking for a manual gear box in one? I want a non-automatic car/bike, I'm just tired driving in a point-and-shoot mode ...
