low idle when cold - w123 stromberg 175cd

my w123 with a stromberg 175cd carb has a low idle when cold, but is fine when its warmed up. can i presume its a choke setting? how do i go about adjusting the "cold idle" setting? any help is appreciated cos currently i have to step a little on the gas while the car's not warmed up and idling. thanks!
