Does the 2006 R350 have a transfer case? My mechanic told me I need to have it changed right after he charged me $500.00 to do a fluid change on the transmission.

If you have a 4Matic, you have a transfer case.

yes it does.. pretty sure all the R's are 4 matic.... just get under there and do it yourself....drains about 1/2 liter of synth MB ATF fluid.
