Need help identifying connector on m103 190e - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Under the hood of my 1991 190e 2.6, I found a loose connector that I cannot find the connection spot to.
The wire seems to be running from underneath the intake manifold and the wires inside the casing are brown and white. The connector's part number is 011 545 85 28. Does anyone know where this connector connects to?

Perhaps it could somehow be related to the car's rough idling issue.

If you could post a picture that would be great, and ill compare to my m103. If not, ill look anyway and see if anything fits that description

The wire comes from under the intake manifold, I originally found the wire hanging in the area below the oil filter.

Brown is ground. My guess would be coolant temp sensor...any "landscape" shots?

Thank you for the reply, I am assuming this could be a different coolant temperature sensor (perhaps for the fuel injection system?), as the gauge on the cluster seems to work fine.
Where would this sensor be located on the motor?

The oil level sender and the oil pressure sensor both have that style connector. I assume your gauge works since you didn't mention anything about it, check that the sender in the sump is connected.

The oil pressure gauge does not actually work on the cluster. It is always pinned at 3, so this could possibly fix it. Would the oil pressure gauge connection be somewhere near the area of the oil filter?

OP should be pinned at 3 until it is totally warmed up. Honestly there are a handful of connectors on the engine that use this boot/connector. Also, to answer your question the engine temp sensor is different than the coolant temp sensor...the engine temp sensor goes to the FI computer and assesses whether or not the engine is warm & to use the O2 or MAPS, the coolant temp sensor goes to your gauge. I might have that mixed up

He said he found the wire by the oil filter. The oil pressure sender is connected at the same place as the oil filter, on the oil filter housing. If you take the oil filter off you can see it a lot better and plug it in. It's pretty tight back there.

The last sensor - closest to the firewall is the one for the computer. It will have a couple of pins so not that one. B11/2 Coolant temperature sensor (EZL/CIS-E, LH)(4-pole) Top rear of cylinder head (6 cylinder)230-3

As far as rough idle, what have you done in terms of tune up items lately? Coil, plug wires, rotor, distributor cap, plugs...

When do you feel the rough idle, sometimes idle if fine but vibration is due to motor mounts, trans mount.

Are you seeing the rpm's fluctuate or does it idle as stay at the same rpm?.

How about the duty cycle, will it fluctuate? Check duty cycle with multi-meter connected to pin 2 and 3 of diagnostic connector on left firewall, if it fluctuates rapidly then computer is making corrections and O2 sensor is working at least some. X11 Diagnostic socket/terminal block (circuit TD) On left inner fender 234-5

The idle control valve can be removed and cleaned and you can check for vacuum leaks which could also lead to your problem area. AKA - Y6 Idle speed air valve Top left front of engine, left of engine oil dipstick 231-6

Thank you all for the help, it turned out to be the oil pressure gauge connection. The car now has a working gauge again!
