89 300SEL with bad harmonic balancer

Got this car in and wanted to share. Per the owners request changed out both engine mounts, transmission mount and the front flex disc. Car continued to have SEVERE vibration. It was quite obvious it was coming from the engine so I statred by removing the fan and fan clutch and found the harmonic balancer separated. Got parts coming from Phil and will put it all back together when everything gets in.

In the pic where it is bolted up you can see at the bottom where things are not aligned. The next picture shows the two different pieces of the balancer.

Running them like this has got to be hard on the engine mounts.

I assume this is a rare failure .Normally this engine is silky smooth .
