Help with How to Safely Change Fuel Line/Hose 1995 E320
Quick question...I noticed a large fuel smell from the right rear tire of my 1995 E320. Upon closer inspection, I noticed one of the fuel lines from the fuel filter was cracked and wet. I want to replace this line but wasn't sure what safety precautions I should take. I don't want to remove the hose and have all the fuel from the tank start gushing out! Any way to limit/prevent spillage?

Disconnect battery, use high quality line (not auto parts store stuff, get it from the dealer or online), and the proper clamps. Best way to limit spillage is to have the new line ready with a plug in the end farther fromthe tank (a bolt works well) and quickly install the new one as soon as the old line is removed from the tank side, and then remove the rest of the line, then pull the bolt out and push it into the other end. Idk exactly what it looks like on your car, but in general that is what you would want to do.
