Knock Sensors... the internets have failed me
I Googled lots, but could not find one simple answer. When did knock sensors debut in production vehicles? When did Benz adopt them? How about Ford? Anyone here know? Thanks!

first knock sensors i saw in production was the 81 volvo 240 with chrysler ignition. i assume chrysler had it somewhere, don't know. mercedes got them with the 129s in 90 and the 119 engine. and so it goes, chuck.

Did a 91 M117 have them? I sorta figured my car had them. No?

Like noted above, started in 1990 on USA DOHC engines.
Never on M117 engine in the US.
