Question 2005 E-Class Ambient Temp Sensor Mount

Hi, can someone tell me how the temp sensor behind the front bumper is mounted? Is it held by a bracket, or does it fit into a hole in the driver's side black plastic lower grill (this grill has a hole in it in about the right place, but the sensor does not fit tightly enough to stay in place, so i am missing something here...).

There is a little bushing that has probably fallen out. They are dealer-only items. Here are two pics from the EPC, the one shows your sensor and the bushing and connector, the other is the part numbers tied to the items. I'd guess you just need the bushing (#480 in the pic).

Alternatively, if you want to be quick and expedient, you could put the sensor in and tag it with a spot of silicone seal at the back of the grille. Not too much, just enough to hold it, then you can remove it later if needed.

Good luck.

That's it, thanks a bunch! I will continue to drive the parts guy at my dealer crazy, and make him find it for me!
