Could I upgrade my W140 Headlights to Xenon?

Hello Folks,
Do any of you know whether the aftermarket xenon upgrades are good or not?
If so, which?

I have been looking for an OEM upgrade for my W140's to no avail.

eBay, and other venues, are full of aftermarket products which are Chinese if I am not mistaken.
Most Chinese products seem to be built cheaply thus I do not want to experiment to find out which is built well enough.

Thank you.

I believe the later W140s came with HIDs as an option from the factory from about 1997 onwards. Can you swap an OEM set of housings in your car? Putting HIDs into housings designed for Halogen bulbs can produce glare and poor pattern. The housings play an important role in how well the light is reproduced.

You are correct.
I have been looking for a pair from those cars but no luck.

That is why I am looking at the aftermarket stuff where you buy a complete kit (housing and all) for a little bit over $200.
Seeing the price disparity between the OEM components and the aftermarket kits gives me reason to be reluctant.
A lot of corners must have been cut to produce the aftermarket units at those prices.

why dont just go to online and put in the make and model of your car, but change the year to 97 and see if its offered. Or go to the dealer
