When is the last time you changed the transmission fluid and filter? Mine did this about 3 years back and luckily fresh fluid and filter did the trick.

Isn't there a cream colored wafer switch on the left side of the transmission pan that you can firm up the shifts? Does the 190E have a 722.3xx transmission?

99% of the time these problems stem from low fluid level in our cars

No Problem Lanny. I second TBOmachine. Pretty much all transmissions are really sensitive to fluid levels. I check mine 3-4 times after a job (hot and cold) on a level surface. It's never as clear cut at I think it should be

tranny slippage
Hi emerydc8.my tranny is the 722-409 and it has the vacuum system on it for adjusting the flares i.e (hard-soft shifts) which is not the problem.only on first starts of the day and shifting from 3rd to 4th does it slip.:I also checked the fluid level which was good.
