2000 E55 SRS FAULT FIX

The passenger seat sensor pad (Sensing if seat is occupied) under the cushion is faulty, bringing up the SRS lite on the dash and the passenger airbag lite on the console. Code was read at the nearest dealer, some distance from my home. I have a new pad from Phil which I can install. Is this plug and play, or does the SRS system need to be initialized by the dealer to recognize the new sensor pad. I definitely do NOT want the dealer involved if I can possibly avoid it . Any help greatly appreciated!!

The only thing you might need to do after replacement is have the code erased.

You may want to disconnect the battery (remember radio code) during the replacement to avoid the SRS code. I know this helps on the airbag.
