126 trunk lock

Hi everyone,

An issue with my trunk lock maybe someone can shed some light on. When locking and unlocking my 1987 560sel from drivers side, all 4 doors and trunk lock and unlock. When using key in the trunk, only the trunk locks and unlocks. Usually the trunk lock will lock and unlock all the doors as well.

Any thoughts?

El Duderino.

Could be the direction you are turning the key.

Or could be a fault in the system. I found that the system has a built-in fault protection circuit. I had some trunk issues too. After pulling the battery for a while all was well again. If the system is without power, it will reset.

If there is still an issue, then its a problem with the mechanism.

I think there is a switch in the trunk lock that gives a signal to open the car when you turn it, it could be broken.

The most complex systems can fail in the simplest way.
