Bosch Altitude Compensator

On the Pagoda SL Group web site, they've got a great technical discussion about the altitude compensator (compensates for changes in air pressure (or outside temperature) by varying the amount of fuel injected based on the atmospheric pressure.)

Yahoo search: bosch altitude compensator injection pump

Anyway, my 95 606 has one on the ip and I think it may have failed and could be the cause my slooooow starts with cold engine and lack of power at speed. I'm not sure, but I'm narrowing down possible problems. (down to: blocked cat, shot lift pump, i.p.)

I removed the compensator on my ip to change glow plugs a few months ago. Ever since its been crappy to take off after sitting.

Has anyone ever replaced this part on their I.P. (diesel or gas)? Any clue where I could buy a new one?

Thanks.
