1994 c 280 hard starts

runs great but a little long on the turnover to start.i have to give it a touch of gas to start quicker but sometimes i get a little back fire.im sure there is afew things that can cause this but would like to fix it.ive talked to a german mechnic and he seems to think its no problem.any ideas would be helpful.thanks grant

IF you need to press on the accelerator to get the engine to fire?
Most likely you have a throttle butterfly that has a build-up of carbon.

Cleaning that butterfly should help
