R134a in a W210 M104 engine
Hey guys,
I just did a motor swap on my car, taking out the engine and all the other stuff. So now i came back to put the A/c on and i put in one can 12oz of 134a and the aux fan kicked in and is working but the air isnt cold enough to put in the system. the system was bone dry as i had to take out the AC lines and do a full swap from one motor to another. Thanks for you help in advance How many cans of 134a should i put in? and at what pressure should it be at? |

If it was bone dry, are you saying that you drained the system while doing the work? If so, then before recharging, you must evacuate the system. Leaving air will prevent it from cooling and the moisture in the system will combine with the refrigerant creating an acid the will eat up the system from the inside out.
If OTOH you mean that it was bone dry without your taking anything apart, there is a leak that must be located and repaired before evacuation and charging. Hope this helps.
