my ac keeps breaking the belt anyone no what would make this happen thanks

i have a 1984 300 sd and the a/c belt keeps breaking i put three on and the same thing keeps happening can anyone help thanks

Was the A/C working properly? Did it put out cold air? Did you get the smell of burned rubber before it let go? Did you try turning the compressor by hand shortly after the belt let go? We would like to be helpful, but your imput is pretty weak.
