I went a bit further on drain cleaning on my 190E. I went in thru the blower fan compartment below the windshield, removed the fan motor and blower wheels. Then, removed the blower inner housing.
Discovered the inner housing clips that hold it together were rusted and broken. The assembly was just hanging there. Further investigation revealed the condensate drain itself was plugged solid with mud and leaves. There was water in there, and it was jet black and smelly. Went to the junk yard and got enough clips to re-do the housing. I've already done this with the heater core replacement, so I knew what clips to look for on the parts cars. Snaked a small wire with the tip bent down to prevent puncturing the rubber drain lines, and finally got water to start running out. I ran water from my garden hose down these drains for awhile until the water ran clear, and continued running the wire in and out of the lines until everything was clear. Put it all back together, and was rewarded with MORE air blowing from the vents, and now, the air quality in the car has improved drastically. I used to have a blast of funky air when turning on the heater system. My A/C currently does not work. I'm patiently waiting for a parts car to come along with what I need to fix mine.

I would run the A/C unit directly ,bypassing the relay with a jumper and check if it continues to run. the klima Relay or the pressure sensors at the Dryer / accumulator could be one cut off source .
