I would Check EPC for proper parts and part numbers as you have a early version, and I have a later version of the 722.508.

I have no access to the EPC since I am from Europe: I have removed the valve body, intermediate plate and lower cover. Then I removed B2 guide temperature throttle oil deflector. Recording to ATSG there should have been 3 one way valves but I only find 1 one way valve I guess it's not the same in all transmission and car model.

I also removed B1, B2 piston so far no problems interesting to have a look inside the transmission which shape the parts are in.

The ATSG manual is missing actual data from the 722.5. It seem it was written with never servicing an actual 722.5.

Now, I have a few other manuals to large to upload from 722.3 n 722.4, and they fill in the gaps, but I'd have to email you these since they are 7megs in size each.

I guess you are right about that. Sorry there is no good manual out there.
Europeantransmissions has one but I guess it's like ATSG. Tried to order one it's say the manual is a download but when I tried to order they charge for shipping and expensive too shipping would be to Europe but I did not order. They did not answer my mail I usually don't order from such company.

Update on the project: On Monday I will take apart the extension housing and I have spot some burned steel discs. tried to find a place where I can buy steel disc but I did not find a place where I can see the price on them.

The 722.5, I think was Mercedes mistake on their fleet of cars. The aftermarket vendors for parts is very low(only a several) here in the USA, yet the 722.6 many many aftermarket vendors exist, and with these aftermarket vendors improve parts.

Here is a pictorial parts list to help in parts ID. The company who makes this list is the only one I've found as the one I bought my rebuild kit no longer carries parts, probably because of the low parts request.

Now I have everything out from the case except support flange. The manual say that I unbolt the allen screws and I have done that, next step is to remove support flange with plastic hammer. Is the support flange in two parts or should I hammer from the front pump side and take it out from extended housing side, or the other way around hammer from extended housing and take it out from front pump side?
Another thing I found a small yellow plastic part with two teeth between B1 and housing it was loose and I don't now where it belongs. It' is same material as the plastic guide for the brake band and exactly same color.

Remember, I've only disassembled my transmission....

Remember, I'm leaving my hex screws in. Mine would not come out either, but the multi star ring holds the whole thing in place.

The little three finger plastic piece is getting replace, and on the list of items getting replaced because these plastic have a bone-color when new, so these are all saturated with oil, and maybe could break.

Part 634(from diagram of last attachment), I think it comes out from the inside to out the rear. I'm on different computer, yet I need to look at the 722.4 manual on the other computer.

I removed the support flange today I hit it from extended housing in to case no problem very easy. I also find the reason for my no reverse a lip seal in B3. The little plastic piece I get a new one from the MB dealer I also buy a new electric plug to the kick down solenoid since the wire are like glass real hard. learn new things along the way. The problem is I don't now where the plastic piece should go in the transmission since it have fall down on the B1 band.

I'll hammer mine out, so you pushed it out from the inside out?

Now the picture, look at your rear case. The plastic piece in the case is not available, but you have to purchase the whole rear case. I found two cases where the plastic cracked, and fluid leaked.

The finger plastic piece locks-in to the slot in the case and with the B1.

Thank you for the pictures,

My reverse lip seal crumbled like yours, and did not tear.
