2002 S430 starting problem

Hey guys, having problems starting my car (2002 s 430) if it has been sitting for awhile. I have to leave the key in the ignition for 15 minutes or more for the car to start. In the cold it could take up to 45 minutes for the car to start. I put a new battery in the car after I thought that it didn't have enough power to all the components that wasn't it. Not sure if its the alternator or a loose connection somewhere. At times it will work the radio and other components even when I cannot turn the ignition on in the car. If I stick the key in the ignition everything works except the ignition will not turn right away and when left in the ignition after awhile I will here a series of clicks and the key engages and I can start the car. Also at times the car will not go out of park, the abs lights stays on as well as the ESP light stays lit. Any suggestions on what could be the problem?? Ignition, alternator, key or something else?? Please help!!!
