97 528i BMW should I buy?

1997 BMW 528i needs transmission

it has a bad tranny. i think they will let it go for 1000.

what do you guys think?

Remove the oil fill cap and see if you can see any sludge. If you can walk away from it. If you do decide to purchase it plan on reaching deep in your pockets to get the tranny sorted. The other weak spot, if maintenance is neglected, is the cooling system.

And there is no way I would pay $1000 for a luxury vehicle that cannot drive under its own power with 200,000 miles.
