Odd no start

Hi Everyone,
Hopefully you guys can give me some assistance. I have a 90 300e 3.0l m103. It has a very odd starting problem. It is running good, shut it off and will not start. Cranks but no start. If i push down slighting on the fuel distributor plunger it will start but stall when I let go. Now the odd thing, if I loosing the EHA and release the fuel pressure and re-tighten, the car will start up right away and drive normal. Until I shut it off again. Done it several time to make sure. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Vaughn

A definite fuel pressure issue.

Checking the system & lower chamber pressure would be my starting point.
