1989 300ce alarm no start

This morning, I went to open the car door and at the same time my wife opened the passenger door....

the alarm started sounding...and we couldn't get it to stop without locking the car. Locked it started it and the alarm started again..

Left the car and took the other to church.

A couple of hours later I went out to try and solve the issue...

....now no alarm and no start...... the starter won't crank at all...

Battery seems to be fine.....

unplugged the footwell becker module.... it unplugs in two spots...

....no difference

AFAIK the alarm system in Mercedes of this vintage don't have any kind of starter or ignition interrupt.

yes... that's what i think, too....

i did open the car with the valet key this morning.....

however this afternoon... i used the regular key....

i also CANNOT trigger the alarm now

If this happened by itself...... before the alarm sounding..... I would say it is a classic NSS issue.

for grins, i tried to jump the battery...but that's not it... the batter is fine.

I am running. Don't know what was wrong. I pulled the aftermarket radio and reseated it and jiggled the distributor wires. Makes no sense
