renew seat bottom

Drove 2hrs on the freeway & my bottom hurt already.

What do you recommend or methods to renew seat bottom so it's more comfortable on long trips?

New springs and maybe padding.

If you don't want to spend time (and a lot of money) a cushion may help.

If it's a W123, there is nothing like adding a 2nd set of springs. A FAR superior fix than the funny noodle. Actually, swapping the driver's spring box bottom with a like new Passanger seat bottom spring box AND adding a spring and its night and day.

Thanks guys! It's for the W201.

Replace with a newer/less used passenger spring box should help.

BUT what is this adding "new springs" you are talking about?

What do you recommend for new padding or where to get?

World Upholstery

worlduph.com has replacement seat padding for your car. Also has both leather and MB Tex replcement seat coverings. Good company. I got a convertible top for my 560SK from them.

I have a post here or STD on the extra spring. And, it does make a world of difference to add the extra spring for the W123. The W123 spring box actually has an extra slot for an extra spring. A few hour job.

Thanks, I'll inquire if available & price. Most likely I'll end up with using foam.

Thanks, I found the thread. I'll check CL if I could get a seat bottom for the springs.

Swap with a passenger seat bottom from the JY. It is easily done and your butt would thank you for that.
